The present study aims to explore the aesthetics in the poetic style of Shivan Fumani. This research has been conducted using a descriptive-analytical method, relying on library resources. Data collection for this study was carried out through library resources, articles, and the use of reputable electronic databases. Subsequently, the researcher analyzed and examined Shivan Fumani’s poetry from a stylistic perspective using descriptive and analytical methods. Shivan Fumani employs the colloquial and conversational Gilaki language as a tool to preserve and revive his native culture and local identity. By utilizing local vocabulary and idioms, he creates a sense of closeness to the culture of Gilan for his audience and reflects his cultural identity through poetry. In some of his poems, Shivan writes in the Gilaki language, making use of common words and expressions from the local dialect. This highlights the poet’s indigenous identity and the culture of Gilan. The findings of the study indicate that the poet extensively employs rhetorical devices such as allusion, antithesis, irony, and proverb referencing, along with imaginative forms like simile, metaphor, metonymy, and personification. Paradoxical combinations are considered one of the most significant aesthetic dimensions of his language, frequently used in his poetry to enhance its beauty and impact. Discourse themes such as social and political thought, humanism and attention to human values, existential and philosophical concerns, pure and unblemished love, connection with nature and the environment, contemplation on human suffering and pain, critique of modern and mechanized life, emphasis on cultural and local identity, and reflections on fate and destiny are among the important subjects observed in Shivan Fumani’s intellectual framework.
