Analysis of the impact of International Monetary Fund policies on the realization of sustainable development goals

In the past decades, both in theory and in practice, development was gradually considered as a holistic concept that included economic, social, cultural, political and environmental dimensions. Achieving development is one of the main concerns of developing countries and one of their demands from the international community. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund is one of the international centers that plays an important role in realizing this. The aim of the current research is to analyze the impact of the International Monetary Fund's policies on the achievement of sustainable development goals. The method of this research is descriptive-analytical and fundamental in terms of its purpose, and descriptive and based on the library method in terms of the method of collecting information, which uses written sources including the collection of Iranian laws, books, treatises, articles, pamphlets and websites. It is possible that after collecting the desired materials, these items have been adapted, consolidated, and analyzed. The findings of the research show that the focus of the International Monetary Fund on goals such as growth and sustainable prosperity places the role and function of this institution in the form of institutions aligned with the ideals of sustainable development. The programs of the International Monetary Fund require a theory of distributive justice that provides a basis for balancing the health of the macroeconomics and the health of individuals. Considering the impact of the International Monetary Fund on public policies and the way governments allocate financial resources, this Politics can have a direct impact on government programs and plans that are designed to achieve sustainable development goals.
