Self-awareness helps patients identify and manage their emotions, while emotional regulation strategies such as cognitive restructuring and mindfulness aid in alleviating depressive symptoms. Furthermore, social support from family and friends provides individuals with a sense of security and reinforcement, which facilitates faster recovery.

It is recommended that therapists incorporate these factors into the therapeutic process to enhance treatment outcomes.
